Journal Set 1 - video entry

     This is one scene from Leyla ile Mecnun.Mecnun is lost among parallel universes.This universe is where he has very bad luck,leave his home,go to the Germany.When he comes to his own home finds his father in a bad situation.After this,It comes to a funny state.

   

     This scene is very good example of Leyla ile Mecnun's feel both sad and funny at the same time.There are a lot of secenes like this in Leyla ile Mecnun.In that way it attracts a lot of people's attention.

      In addition to these feelings The soap opera also gives chapter and verse some other operas,films or social events.

Journal Entry 4 - Slogan for METU

 
                 
                      I think the present slogan "I brain ODTÜ" is not appropriate for METU whose education language is English.Because it is not grammatical.I haven't come up with an idea what it means actually since I heard it. On the other hand,it sounds good to me.Its comic is also funny and like "I <3 NY "

                   When it comes to my slogan , it is "I just MET U " it may sounds strange firstly, I come up with this idea when I was on Facebook. I saw that one of my friends shared Carly Rae Jepsen's song called "call me maybe". I think it is really funny and original, also attractive to students of METU who are mostly young people.. :)
       
                 

Journal Set 1 - LEYLA & MECUN

        "LEYLA İLE MECNUN" the name of which inspired by a book Fuzuli, but actually its subject not related with the boo.In the first episode two babies are born in the same hospital and their families gave their names according to this tradition Leyla and Mecnun.They grows and not see each other but Mecnun's family want to marry their son with Leyla.Firstly,Mecnun doesn't want to marry but when he see Leyla he fall in love.After this,story starts...

          

       Leyla ile Mecnun has a very fantastic context that you may suddenly cry while you are laughing.It is the most impressive and emotional soap opera I have ever seen. 

       Now , Its 3.season on air  and there are over 70 episodes.

      Finally, I can say that it is worth spending time for Leyla ile Mecnun After watching episodes you will justify me.. :) 

ERROR CORRECTİON 2

Because I come from Aydın(I am from Aydın) and I am not used to this type of weather.(such weather) But never mind I will get used to.(I never mind because I will) I feel great especially psychological aspect.(psychologially) Because I’m at where I want to be.(I am where I want to be) Today,there are lots of universities all around the world in my opinion,most of them aren't able to educate their students enough to find good solutions to the problems that they face(good enough to find)

ERROR CORRECTİON 1

1.When ı first heard that ı had been accepted to Middle East Technical Unıversity, ı was disappointed. Because ı did not like Ankara as a city. But my opinions have changed over time dramatically. Because Middle East Technical Unıversity is really a different world in Ankara.

Journal entry 3: METU: an ideal university atmosphere?

            I think a university should have some features to be an ideal university.

           Firstly,  I believe that an ideal university should not just focus on training their students in their respective fields of expertise but also with well-rounded individuals who are not only good with computing, accounting, programming and all that.Today,there are a lot of universities in the world but most of them are just giving some formal education to their students.

          Secondly, there must be a free ambiance in a university where everybody can express their ideas freely,live in a peaceful area and surely respectful to each other.

          Thirdly, universities' campus should include many opportunities for students such as sports centers,theatres,labaratuars... exc. so that students can do  their social activities.Also it should have well-organazied buildings,faculties,dormitories.

          When thinking METU, I can say that almost everything is available  in here and also METU is an ideal university in my opinion.

Journal Entry 2

   Being a Metu student was my goal in high school. Now I’m a METU student and so I’m happy about this situation.Though I started this new life with many problems such as getting used to new environment , adopting to new city,new school,missing my family..
   
   When I came to here, I also faced with many problems like loneliness,none of my close frinends came here, and absolutely the ways of METU.They are so complicated.

   Now I got accustomed to all of these challenges and adopted here.

   METU is a place where you can do whatever you want.It's easy to access everything you look for.We are adults now and We are free.METU provides us this freedom.
  
   To improve ourselves METU is best place.There are a lot of opportunities like sports center , library , wireless exc. 

   In addition to these opportunities,there are many social clubs in METU. Thanks to these clubs we can not only become socialized but we can also improve ourselves or help people who need to help. 

   However, like every part of the life there are some difficulties in METU, too. For instance, I think transportation is a problem in here. Buses come too late and ring services are also limited.

   Finally I can say that being at METU is great and it should be experienced by everyone.. :)

NATO has plans to defend Turkey if need be, Rasmussen says

    The head of NATO said on Tuesday that the 28-member military alliance had plans in place to defend Turkey against attack from Syria if necessary, but that he hoped the two countries would find a way to stop tensions escalating.

     NATO ambassadors threw their support behind Turkey in an emergency meeting last week after Syrian shells struck a border town in Turkey killing five civilians.

    The two neighbours have repeatedly exchanged fire since then, the most serious outbreak of cross-border violence since Syria's revolt against President Bashar al-Assad erupted 18 months ago.
"We have all necessary plans in place to protect and defend Turkey if necessary," Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen told reporters before a meeting of the alliance's defence ministers in Brussels.

   On Monday, Turkish President Abdullah Gül said the "worst-case scenarios" were now playing out in Syria and that Turkey would do everything necessary to protect itself.
Gül said that the violence in Turkey's southern neighbour, where a revolt against Assad has evolved into a civil war that  threatens to draw in regional powers, could not go on indefinitely.

   Rasmussen commended the Turkish government for its restraint, saying he hoped the parties would avoid an escalation of the crisis.

   "Obviously Turkey has a right to defend herself within international law," he said. "I would add to that that obviously Turkey can rely on NATO solidarity."

   Turkey joined NATO in 1952.
